Ten Questions to Ask Before Buying Pool Tables for Sale
1. Is the frame constructed of solid wood
or plywood and particle board?
2. Does the frame support the slate on all surfaces?
3. Is the top rail made of particle board or solid wood?
4. If a laminated rail is used, is it burn and scratch resistant high
pressure laminate?
5. If a two-piece wood rail is used, are both the rail cap and rail base
constructed of hardwoods such as oak (cap) and poplar (base)?
6. Is the cushion a full-profile, canvas-backed Grade A cushion rubber?
7. Are the slates diamond-honed matched and registered?
8. If the slate is framed, is it backed with solid wood and not plywood or
particle board?
9. Is the billiard cloth a heavy wool/nylon blend cloth?
10. Is the leg construction primarily solid wood and do the legs attach to
the table in such a way as to provide rigidity?

I have a 1920's Brunswick Regina Billiard Table. It is 5x10, mahogany with
rosewood rails and pearl dots.It is heavy timber construction and 1 1/2

restored by George Balabushka.over the years I had Gus Szamboti restore
twice.it is 4 prong rose wood/iris linen/brass joint/stainles screw/ivory

BRUNSWICK - Willie Hoppe Pool Cue For Sale - I bought the cue from a
fellow in New York City in 1964. It is a four splice - ebony into maple
with two veneer inserts. The black leather wrap is in excellent condition.
In 1984, I had a new maple shaft made by a wonderful cue maker in Phoenix.
At that time I stained the cue a light oak followed by some very fine wet
sanding and then sealed with polyrurathane. A few months months ago, The
brass in the shaft fell out and was replaced with a much harder metal -
originally brass. ( It can't been seen of course when the cue is
together.) He also replaced the leather tip and replaced the ivory butt
plate supposedly made from an ivory cue ball with a new composite. I
didn't ask for this change; I have that ivory piece and it is not a big
deal to reinstall it. I have had four experts verify it is a Willie Hoppe;
however, it does not have the signature on the forearm nor the sticker on
the butt. I have been told this one was probably made in the mid 1940's.
The 2nd Blue Book has these cues in the $450 to $1500 range. I am asking
$750 as it is very good condition.
